What are your priorities? Are you one of them?
Four Easy Tips To Find More Joy In LifeIn today's action packed world, where the list of "to do's" can be oppressive, how do you choose what to focus on? Regardless of your heroic efforts, many things just don't get taken care of. My bet is that one of those neglected "items" is YOU!
When was the last time you did something simply to nurture yourself? Like relaxing in a luxurious bath, reading a novel, or strolling on the beach? Making time solely for yourself is critical for our well-being! While it may seem selfish, this is the key to staying healthy, balanced, feeling fulfilled and joyful. How can you expect to go on serving everyone else without devoting any time to your own rejuvenation?
No matter how busy you are, try one of these simple, nurturing exercises to get in touch with the joy of being alive. It's not the length of time, but rather the quality of the experience that creates the benefit.
- Take 10 slow, deep breaths, inhaling to the count of seven, holding for two, exhaling for seven and relaxing for two. Add a visual if you like, inhaling one color for clearing, then exhaling another color to let go of what no longer serves you. This deliberate breathing exercise calms the mind, refreshes the body and clears your energy field.
- Stop, notice, enjoy and appreciate the view. Take a moment to really see the beauty and magnificence of where you are in detail; the landscape, sky, architecture, décor, etc. Use each of your senses fully to maximize the experience.
- Start your day with a short prayer, chant, or centering process. Even two minutes will align you with the higher energy source of your choice, elevating you for the entire day.
- End your day by listing at least five things for which you are truly grateful. Take stock of the abundance in your life, and be thankful for everything you do have and everything that is going well.
Practice one of these easy, but powerful techniques consistently, and you'll start noticing changes within a very short period of time. Make yourself a priority and start feeling better, having more energy, improving your outlook, and finding more joy in all that life makes available to you!
